How the £75 deposit works
Every hire has a £75 refundable deposit. You pay it with the hire charge at handover, in cash or by agreed bank transfer, and we hold it until the machine has come back and been checked.

- Getting it back: we check the machine when it comes back, and aim to refund your deposit within 48 hours of return and inspection, provided nothing is outstanding.
- Deductions: only reasonable, evidenced costs for unpaid charges, damage beyond normal wear and tear, missing equipment or a breach of the hire terms. We'd itemise anything deducted and refund the rest. Normal wear and tear is never charged.
- If costs ever went beyond the deposit, we'd contact you with details and evidence before asking for more. The full conditions are in section 4 of the hire terms.
Meet the machine
The BISSELL Big Green is a full-size upright carpet cleaner. It sprays water and detergent into the carpet, rotating brushes work it through the pile, and suction draws the dirty water back out. Cleaned and checked between customers.

Pick it up from and bring it back to Castletown, at times we've arranged with you in advance. There's no charge for this.
Charged: delivery by us
We can bring it to you, fetch it back, or do both. The charge depends on your area and how many journeys you need, as the table shows. Delivery depends on our availability, and times are agreed in advance, separately from your hire dates.
Transport always appears as its own line, never folded into the hire price. Somewhere more remote? We'll quote individually.
Collecting it yourself? It's 107 × 28 × 52 cm and about 19 kg empty, so please check it will fit in your vehicle.

- Remove any remaining cleaning solution
- Wipe down the outside where needed
- Return all supplied accessories

Damage or loss from misuse or lack of reasonable care may mean reasonable repair or replacement costs, which we'd explain and support with evidence. If you're running late, please tell us as soon as you can: we consider reasonable circumstances before applying a late charge.
Questions people ask
Do you clean the carpets for me?
No, we hire out the machine and you do the cleaning yourself, which is what keeps it affordable. It's easy, and instructions are included.
I've never used one. Is it hard?
Not at all. Fill the tank, switch on, slow passes, much like vacuuming. We'll walk you through it at handover.
Will it suit my carpet?
It suits most synthetic domestic carpets and sturdy wool-mix carpets. Take care with pure wool and delicate carpets, and please don't use it on natural plant-fibre coverings such as jute, sisal, seagrass or coir. Test a hidden area first. Results depend on the carpet and its condition, so we can't guarantee that particular stains or marks will come out.
Will it fit in my car?
Please check the size above and contact us if you're unsure; our machine guide covers loading it safely. If you'd rather not move it, choose delivery when you enquire.
Do I need to be a certain age?
Yes, you need to be 18 or over to hire the machine.
What if I need to cancel or change my dates?
Just let us know as soon as you can. Cancelling before your hire starts is normally free, and anything you've already paid for a hire that hasn't started is refunded. Changing dates depends on availability. The details are in section 11 of the hire terms.
